The Georgia Museum of Art is not only the official museum of the University of Georgia it is also the official state museum. The curatorial practice of GMOA focuses on a southern regional identity highlighting the complex history of the south, the people who live in the south, the interaction with the land, and the many narratives of history that makeup the southern region.
