Dr. Jerry Rafiki Jenkins Named Second Vice President of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association

Dr. Jerry Rafiki Jenkins the Assistant Director for the Institute for African American Studies at UGA and author of Anti-Blackness and Human Monstrosity in Black American Horror Fiction has been name the Second Vice President of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association.

The Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association PAMLA..."was founded as the Philological Association of the Pacific Coast in 1899. PAMLA, the western regional affiliate of the Modern Language Association (MLA), began its association with the MLA in 1918. PAMLA hosts an annual scholarly Humanities conference..." In his tenure Dr. Jenkins hopes, to, "...benefit our students [at UGA] who are in or are pursuing grad school in the Humanities and/or Cultural Studies by giving them the opportunity for conference presentations and article publications".
 

Dr. Jenkin's desire to build up and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students for professional training, opportunity, and success works in seamless conjunction with the The Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association [and its dedication to], "the creation, advancement, and diffusion of knowledge of ancient and modern languages, literatures, media, cultures, and the arts."

PAMLA publishes two annual issues of Pacific Coast Philology, its peer reviewed scholarly journal, and hosts PAMLA Arts Matter. As apart of his tenure as Second Vice President, Dr. Jenkins will eventually serve as President where he will get the opportunity to be an editor of the Pacific Coast Philology
